telecom company BSNL has announced that they are all set to expand the availability of their IPTV services in cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata.

A K Sinha, CMD BSNL said that this decision was taken after the successful launch in Pune recently.

He added that the company is looking for potential partners to launch the service in more markets around the country.

BSNL further said that they are working hard on preparing to expand the customer base for broadband activity.

The aim is to release 3.3 million broadband connections in urban areas and two million-plus connections in the rural areas by June this year.

The longer term plan is to have 20 million broadband connections by the year 2010.
