China has more than 100 million internet users
China happens to be one of the fastest growing online markets in the world. And the latest reports in claims that the country now boasts of more than 100 million netizens. Most of these users are on advanced internet connections like the ones based on ADSL broadband internet service. The information was released by the head of Optical Telecommunications Committee of China Telecommunications Society, Mao Qian.
He was referring to the just-finished report based on the 16th survey into the development of the Internet in China. As per the report, there are 53 million broadband subscribers, most of whom are Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) clients. The organization estimates this number to be close to around 33 million subscribers.
The survey also came out with some interesting findings. Most of the users connected to the internet are unhappy with the kind of speeds they are getting. And the country expects that newer technologies would solve these problems in the coming years. As many as 5% of the surveyed users were very unhappy with their connectivity. Another 17 per cent said that they were not satisfied while, 40 per cent of the users claimed their speeds were “so-so”.
