Airtel would recycle numbers not used in the last 2 months!
Bharti airtel has revealed that they are soon going to start recycling mobile numbers that have not been used in the last 60 days.
The regulation from TRAI currently stands at six months. Airtel is forced to take this step because of the high number of unused numbers on their network and the overall shortage of new numbers available to them.
Airtel has informed TRAI of this step and they have also assured that all of their mobile users would be informed of this decision.
Bharti airtel is the largest mobile service provider in the Indian market. airtel said: “Due to multi SIM behavior it is seen that a large percentage of the subscribers’ base will not get registered on the Visitor Location Register since these customers do not use their SIMs for long periods of time. However resources are blocked and these numbers cannot be deactivated.”
