Facebook Mobile is free for Airtel Mobile users till August

Airtel has announced that they are providing free access to mobile version of Facebook to their mobile users.

Airtel mobile users can access m.facebook.com from their smartphones at no extra cost.

This offer is valid till August end.

They can start using this offer by sending an SMS “Facebook” to 54321.

We are not sure how this is different from the 0.facebook.com service announced by Facebook recently. But it is still a good news for Facebook fans with Airtel mobile connections.

There seems to be no hidden costs of this offer. The only thing is that it ends in August. Airtel Mobile is probably expecting users to get hooked to this service and they might start paying for it after August.

0.facebook.com is already a free service for mobile users. Facebook has collaborated with multiple companies to offer this specialized edition. Only access to media files is not free.

Update: Reliance and Videocon are the only mobile service providers in India to offer access to 0.facebook.com for free.
