Vodafone introduces per-second billing for postpaid customers

India’s second largest GSM operator, Vodafone has started introducing the much touted per second billing plans, for its postpaid customers. These plans are currently available in three metros of the country, in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Chennai. While the pricing of these plans isn’t same across these cities, it is a positive sign nevertheless for the small section of postpaid users in this country.
The details of these plans are available on the company’s website. Plans in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai start at Rs. 199 per month, while Chennai customers have it even better at an annual rental of just Rs. 63. However, Chennai customers would have to pay a one time conversion fee of Rs. 551 inclusive of taxes, which still works out cheaper than the plans in the other two metros.
Roaming tariffs however are standard rate, and are not billed per second. In addition, many customers might miss the free SMS that one usually gets with the postpaid plans. However, there are top ups available which can be availed.
