Airtel IPTV customers are already reporting problems with service

Airtel IPTV is just a couple of weeks old and the service is already creating massive problems for the customers.

We have an Airtel IPTV connection at our place and the service is practically unusable after evening.

We are waiting for a response from the Airtel Digital TV customer support which of course does not work on a Sunday.

Here is another user’s experience on Airtel IPTV:

Airtel IPTV has turned into a painful experience. It is guaranteed to be down 99.2% of the time. I have never been able to watch a channel for more than 5 minutes in the past 7 days. Its so bad, its pathetic.

An Airtel engineer comes to my house every 2nd day, camps for over 1 hour talking to
various people, tinkering with settings etc. and goes away. Things are back to square one.

I have one recommendation: DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO AIRTEL IPTV, UNLESS YOU WISH TO BE GUINEA PIGS FOR EXPERIMENTATION.

This is a very poor system being palmed of to customers. This system doesnot work . Statements of other viewers is fully authentic. Last 10 days has been a harrowing experience for me and the family. All the added sops are of no use if the main function is not working. Dont waste your good money and time in this airtel iptv junk. I dont know if I will ever see my Rs.1750 again.

None of the companies have successfully DELIVERED on what has been PROMISED in their ADS. They all need to be HAULED to court and give damages to customers. ANY OTHER country we would seen TRAI like body taking stringent action but looks like they have been bought over (like everything else in India) by these big companies.
Tell me which company delivers on what broadband speed they promise.
I have BSNL and Relaince datacard. BSNL promises 256 KBPS but I get 30 KBPS!!
Reliance gives me 300 KBPS sometimes...sometimes 1.2 MbPS. BUT NEVER 3.1 MBPS as Promised. And I was fed up with Airtel and shifted to BSNL!! One is worse than the other!!!
I have not seen this kind of problem in other countries where I lived. The prob is in or SHITTY BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE which we have been deprived of since the last 60 years. And LACK OF RESPECT for customers. Just look at our signals, roads, pavements, etc. CRAP!!
All companies have learnt and got away by treating consumers like SHIT....be it TATA Sky, BIG, Pharma companeis, consumer prodcs, electronics, Builders, restaurants and what have you. We get cheated EVERYWHERE like SUCKERS and most of us don't bother about it. ( I DO).
VERY SAD!!!!

i have the same prob. like other's not a single day spent without any problem , a little rain cause disconnection of signal's...

oh the service has been pretty stable at my place since the last couple of months. you need to get in touch with airtel guys if it is giving too many problems. contact me if you want to get the relevant email ids.

The problem for iptv is the unreliable internet connections (read packet loss and disconnections ) we have in this country, Airtel now has 8mbps plans available, i hope they switch their iptv to these networks. It is impossible to stream a live television on a 256 kbps line.

airtel blocks 6mbps bandwidth for iptv. that is separate from the internet connectivity you get on your connection.

Same is with MTNL's IPTV "I-Control".
I think currently IPTV technology is not completely developed in INDIA.
Reliance is also launching it's IPTV service in 2010.
Reliance has collabrated with Microsoft, so I think it's service will be better, As this service is also in testing
