Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to expand IPTV services
Indian government owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced that they are working on expanding the availability of their IPTV services in the country.
BSNL is aiming to provide these services in 98 cities and towns across India by March 2009.
The company is also working on expanding their broadband services throughout the nation.
BSNL has now launched the IPTV services in Haryana circle on Wednesday. Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ambala based customers now have access to BSNL IPTV services.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal added: “We expect to have one lakh IPTV subscribers in the country by March.”
Goyal added: “We have ambitious plans for broadband expansion. In the next three years, we plan to add 30-lakh broadband connections every year, thus promoting our unique IPTV service also. IPTV gives choice, variety and flexibility to customers, besides a great viewing experience.”
